How vocal, social and trainable is your dog?
Current research projects
Dog Social Cognition and Trainability
​​We are investigating how dogs solve problems and respond to human communication, including pointing and speech by asking dog guardians to complete a short questionnaire.
We hope this project will help charities improve assistance dog selection for training.

To participate in the study, your dog must:
​

Be at least 1 year old

Have lived with you for at least 3 months.

Have no hearing or vision problems.
Variability in Dog Vocal Behaviour

Data collection for our vocal research project is now complete - we will share results here when they are ready (hopefully summer 2026).
